About me

I’ve been a software developer in the Region of Waterloo for the past 14 years. None of the content on this site reflects in any way those of my current or former employers. Much of my development experience has been in Objective-C, Java, C#, Ruby on Rails, or JavaScript.
I’m currently employed at Google, in Kitchener, Ontario.

I’m also an English Literature and Rhetoric part time undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo. I have a particular interest in science fiction studies. I’ve taken a selected reading course on the works of Philip K. Dick, and have presented two papers on the works of Canadian Science Fiction author Robert J. Sawyer.

When I have the time, I enjoy photography, and writing.

I might know a little more than usual about maple syrup production. My parents own and operate Matthews Maple Syrup, a 200 acre sugarbush in the North Bay area.

I’m active on Twitter at @maplemuse, as well as on Google+ and LinkedIn.
